South Point

Ka Lae (Hawaiian for “the point”), also known as South Point, is the southernmost point of the Big Island of Hawaii and of the 50 United States. South Point marks the most south I have ever been on the globe (held previously by my 2005 trip to Cancun). This is the spot, that if I were a younger (and less-wise) man I could dive from the cliffs into the ocean. Yes, there is a ladder to climb back up, but the currents are known to be strong and deadly in this area. Needless to say, I stayed safe and dry on top of the cliffs.

That’s it, I can’t go any further South without leaving the USA

I really like that area of the World. Heading South, next stop is Tahiti. I’m sure by now you have figured out the situation with the lava flow, etc.

Yea, the lava flow area is all pretty tame and out of the way from most. Tahiti sounds good… maybe next year :)
