Our final day at Union Reservoir

Even if we were not mandated to leave today, I am sure Mom would want us to go anyway. Yesterday was a brutal day, especially for her. Although the morning started off nicely, eating breakfast and watching the balloons climb the cool morning air over Longmont, by afternoon the heat was crushing us into the small shaded areas.

Timmy and Imelda came out and the three of us did a little swimming (more like walking into the water and standing there) to keep our cool, but Mom stayed at the trailer and was en-route to overheating. 90 degrees to a Californian is not all that hot, but 90 degrees in Colorado is very hot (feels like 110 in CA). So, by late afternoon Mom had had it and was ready to leave Colorado all together. We did get her to Imelda’s for a cool shower and some air conditioning until the sun set where the temps quickly dropped into the 70’s.

Today (Sunday) we will run into town to restock and begin building up the living area in the mini-van just in case Mom still wants to roll out of Colorado in the next few days… which, by the way, will be in the mid-to-high 70’s at least.
