Puttin the rubber to the road

Mom in the newly built trailer

A month after settling in for a stay I am finishing up my preparations to once again get back on the road. This past month did not include many adventures as it where, but was filled mostly with completing the work on the Compact Jr trailer and picking up dog-poop for the three other dogs staying at the house – a responsibility I was not aware was mine since my dog pooped elsewhere (Mother does this too me all the time).

Moose selfie, showing off his new tags

Moose turned 4-months old this past Friday, meaning he was able to get his first Rabies shot. He was awarded with his first shiny new rabies-tag and a certificate of vaccination. I also had a tag engraved with his name and my contact info, just in case. We are now ready for travel back to Colorado where I can get his license.

The van has been getting a quick once-over as well. Some more oil, power steering fluid, and air in the tires will all do it some good. As is customary, an entire re-organization of the storage areas was required to fit in all the things that were stored in the trailer the past few months. This resulting in a few things being donated to the local thrift store, but everything does seem to fit into it’s assigned location with just enough wiggle room to make it all work.

Big Blue and Jr, long-time partners in adventure, finally part ways

This week is a family-tour with little else able to be squeezed in. After leaving my Mother, I have a days drive before stopping to visit my oldest Brother. Then another days drive will get my to my only Sister (and Brother-in-law) and where I part ways with the Compact Jr trailer. Here, I hope to also see my two younger brothers before the van and I go East again… for the first time in 12 months and 8000 miles without the trailer in tow. I hope the van does not get separation anxiety.

I should arrive in Colorado just in time for my son’s Xmas break to begin.
