Big Blue gets a pet of his own

Since the 2014 rebuild, where I lost a fair amount of storage space, Big Blue has been in need of some extra cargo carrying capacity, mainly for the extra fuel and propane that should not be carried inside the van. The plan was to better utilize the top of the van where it already has a luggage rack but concerns of theft and what the sun may do to exposed fuel (and finding a great deal on Craig’s List) drove me to buy a ‘pet’ for Big Blue.

Meet “Carlos”, a tiny 3’X4′ cargo trailer. Carlos will serve double duty, with primary responsibilities of carrying the flammables (and other stuff) while I am cruising the country in the van. Secondary duty will be as a tiny camping trailer that my 280 Z can tow around. I call it “Plan Z” in which I will use this trailer to build a fold-out tent and slide out kitchen to take proper camping trips with the Datsun.
