Knowing we would be in the area a day earlier than our scheduled arrival at Kerri’s Aunt’s place, Kerri reserved a spot at her childhood favorite place to camp in California; Patrick’s Point State Park<\/a>. I’m usually not the biggest fan of State Parks, but will make an exception for Patrick’s Point. It is a beautiful park, filled with redwoods, ferns, and wild flowers, set on a little triangle of land jutting out into the ocean.<\/p>\n

Even though the place was booked solid, it didn’t feel all that busy I must say. The camp sites were spaced enough as well and a wall of foliage separating each. Our spot was not huge, but then we are only in a van. Surrounded by trees and bushes of all sorts, we settled in for a relaxing afternoon of hiking the trails down to the beach, a visit of the Sum\u00eag Village<\/a>, and finally a hike out to the rocky coastline to listen to the sea-lions and enjoy the never ending view to the West. For the first time in a while, we discussed\u00a0 our future plans of sailing too. No rush though, we are really enjoying ourselves in Big Blue.<\/p>\n
