Kitchen Addition

My Mother and Sister will understand; we are never content with the status quo when it comes to the furniture. Since I can not longer relocate pieces within the van, I have instead chosen to add to it. It’s an idea that has been pecking away at the far recesses...

My first van 0

My first van

The year was 2002; my first van, which started the obsession, and the Z posing together in the driveway of the house in California. 12 years later…

Big Blue gets a pet of his own

Since the 2014 rebuild, where I lost a fair amount of storage space, Big Blue has been in need of some extra cargo carrying capacity, mainly for the extra fuel and propane that should not be carried inside the van. The plan was to better utilize the top of the...

Safety last

Well, sometimes I do things backwards. Safety often takes a back seat in my plans, but today it finally makes the headlines with the installation of new smoke and carbon monoxide detectors on the van. Together with the two fire extinguishers, I feel a bit more confident in myself if...

A new porch light

Just below the awning, on the outside of the van, is a newly installed porch light. This is a result of seeing Leigh and Brian’s porch light on their trailer back in Jan/Feb. It took some time to find the light I wanted, but after two trips to Camping World...

Re-paneling the doors

Some of the most visible paneling of the interior is the doors. That old beat up panel is seen by everyone, every time I open the door. It has been on my todo list for some time. Included on that todo was to add in some cut-out storage into the...

More work completed on Big Blue rebuild

Tasks continue to be scratched off the rebuild todo list; a new pivoting table, recycled drawers installed at front of bed/couch, and the installation of the 1000 watt inverter under the bed/couch. I also widened the bed by 4 inches.
