Tony and Karen

I’ve been following Tony and Karen (http://rollinginarv-wheelchairtraveling.blogspot.com) for the past month or so after I noticed that they were down in the Colorado Springs area. We both regular the forums at CheapRVLiving.com and exchanged a few notes until I learned they might be passing right through town here… so we scheduled a meet.

Tony and Karen have been full-timing for 20 years and even started in an old VW bus. They now tour the country in a custom 4WD truck/RV combo. What makes their adventure that much more amazing is that Karen does this all from a wheelchair. It seems nothing can keep this free spirit from the adventure of the open road.

They spent two of my final nights with me here at the Lodge and even became Moose members during their stay. We BBQ’d and shared our stories well into the night before I sent them off to the Big Cat Wildlife Sanctuary for a (hot) day with the big cats.

I stayed where I had a plug while Tony sought out the late afternoon shade in the parking lot.
