Routine maintenance day

under vanThat’s it, I’m done with all the routine maintenance before restarting my adventures.  It all started with the oil pressure gauge fix a few days ago… yesterday I completed the oil change, transmission fluid and filter change (in desperate need), rotated the tires, replaced the front shocks (one had failed all together), and a general engine tune-up.

I decided to just do all the work myself and save a massive amount of money. The transmission work would have cost $125, but I did it for under $30. The shocks were quoted at nearly $300 last year, but I got them and installed them for $46. All together, I took my $125 in recent poker winnings and used it on the maintenance… worked perfectly… and now I am all caught up on the routine maintenance items in the van, giving me a lot more confidence to start driving again.
