Rocky Mountain Ntnl Park – Ouzel Falls

Conor and I can no longer say we have never hiked in the Wild Basin area of the National Park. On Tuesday we set out to photo Ouzel Falls, roughly a 3 mile hike each way.  A side benefit to hiking up in the National Park was the temperature was 20 degrees cooler (70’s) than down on the front range (90’s). Combine that with a hike passing numerous falls and cascades, heat was not much of an issue for us.

The volume of water coming down the North Saint Vrain Creek (yes, I said Creek) was overwhelming. So much so that the bridge at Ouzel Falls as in fact, washed away. No big deal though… we ate lunch at the base of the thundering falls, being cooled by the mist, and turned around to end a nice morning of hiking.
