Travel map ahoy!

I spent some time recently and merged the maps for each of my individual years of traveling since I started this lifestyle in late 2009. It took some serious effort since Google Maps has so many limitations on how many points and layers you can have on a single map, but here it is… color coded by year even.

What a great map! I can appreciate how long it took you to put this map together. I see from your 2017 plans you will be heading to the east coast next year. You will find lots of beautiful places and interesting things to see along the way. Wishing you safe travels and happy trails!

Thanks Beth! It will be my first time (not Kerri’s) that far East since I started traveling. We are skipping the NE but are looking to cover the South and the Great Lakes areas in 2017.

hello, Found your post while searching Moose Club camping. Soon to retire and making a plan to travel. Do you stay at many Moose Clubs campgrounds? I am enjoying your reads! keep them going please. Educating ourselves on what to expect while exploring the USA. Our plan is to travel in a truck with small truck (slide on ) camper. Figuring out some type of budget is going okay except lodging. Not sure if its safe to boon dock in many areas or if we should plan on campgrounds??
    thanks for your time,
    Carol in Michigan

Hi Carol, and thanks. I do stay at Moose lodges from time to time, usually just single nights when we are enroute to another location, but there have been a few times where we have stayed a week or more. Some – about 10% – do have some form of RV hookups which makes life a lot easier.

I am not sure where you are located, but in the West there are literally millions of miles of public land that can be camped on for free. A great resource is http://www.campendium.com to find many of those places.
