180 days

Today is my 6-month anniversary of being a full-time van dweller. To the rest of the world, that means I am homeless, but to me it means I am home no matter where I decide to turn the engine off.

It is somewhat of a challenge to me… to stay each and every night in the van. I thought it would be more difficult then it has been; sleeping in a vehicle during winter. Even here in Colorado, where temperatures are regularly in the teens overnight I have stayed comfortably in my van. Even though I have had an invitation to sleep indoors this entire time I choose to continue sleeping in the van… mainly to continue the ‘winning streak’.

Like a gift, I woke to the first sunrise in 3 days here in Colorado. The recent storm that passed through dropped 3 days of ice and snow. Overnight temperatures down in the low-teens and high temperatures only barely reaching above freezing. The sun is a welcome anniversary gift.
